The World Countries Trainer allows you to learn the geographical location of states on a modern political map. It is up to you to decide which parts of the world to test on and whether to include questions about countries with small territories, to discover new countries in study mode, or to test your knowledge with the difficult questions mode on.
Detailed true-color image of the entire Earth from the VisibleEarth Nasa project is a backdrop. Contours of countries from publicly available datasets of the Natural Earth service are projected into the backdrop. The cartographic information about the countries is supplemented with brief references from Wikipedia, including capitals, the largest cities, flags and anthems of the countries, as well as approximate information about the area and population of the states.

Get to know the world map
The World Countries Trainer is a great way to get to know the political map of the world or to explore new regions. Limit the test to one part of the world, set the minimum number of questions, and enter the learning mode. The trainer will show the countries under test on the map, display the names of countries when you mouse over them, and provide you with a detailed summary when you click on any country.
Discover new things about countries
For each country, the trainer provides a brief Wikipedia reference. One page contains information about the political system and alternative names of the state, the capital and the largest cities, information about the area, GDP and population, as well as the flag, emblem and anthem of the country that you can play from the same page.
Customize the trainer to your needs
Take a moment to explore the settings and modes of the service. Use the “Learning mode” to comfortably study new countries, as well as the “Difficult Questions” and “Small Countries” modes for advanced practicing. Select one or more parts of the world for the test, and enable the loading of refined country boundaries in “Detailed Borders” mode.
Keep track of progress
Register to track your progress on the World Countries Trainer in your personal account. The results feed contains the detailed information for each passed test: number of questions in the test, test result, trainer settings, as well as the date and time of the test.
